Why Pancreatic Cancer Is Difficult to Notice Early

With over three decades of experience in the electrical contracting industry, Michael Fratacci served Ramco Electrical Contracting Corp. from 2001 to 2017. Throughout his career, Michael Fratacci Sr worked in the New York City metropolitan area. As a way of giving back to his community, he supports several charitable organizations, including the Ashley Lauren Foundation, which focuses on the battle against cancer.

One of the deadliest types of cancer that affect any gender is pancreatic cancer. Early signs and symptoms of pancreatic cancer overlap with those of benign diseases and illnesses, such as some gastrointestinal conditions. For this reason, many people don’t know they have pancreatic cancer until the disease has progressed to a terminal stage.

Some early signs and symptoms of pancreatic cancer are indigestion and heartburn, loss of appetite, unexplained weight loss, excretion of greasy yellow stool, and skin itchiness. Pancreatic cancer can also cause tummy pain that radiates to the back, especially the area between the shoulder blades. The radiating pain can worsen immediately after eating and last a long time.

Diabetes diagnosis can also point to pancreatic cancer. This is because pancreatic cancer can compromise the pancreas’ ability to produce insulin, which can cause diabetes. A doctor’s early evaluation of these red flags can uncover pancreatic cancer and facilitate successful treatment.

Minimum Overhead Line Distance from Swimming Pools

A New Jersey-based electrical contracting executive, Michael Fratacci has provided electrical contracting services for more than three decades. From 2001 to 2017, Michael Fratacci Sr. served as president of Ramco Electrical Contracting Corp. in Staten Island, New York. In this capacity, he oversaw the execution of numerous projects, including installing wiring and controls for pools.

Licensed electricians who are well versed in the local electrical code for swimming pools methodically take precautions when planning an electrical installation for pools. Some of the precautions are geared toward conforming to the National Electrical Code (NEC) requirement for overhead electrical lines.

The NEC requirement mandates a minimum clearance of 22.5 feet for overhead power lines. The height is measured with respect to the water level, which is the highest point the water can attain before spilling out of the pool. A shorter distance (10 feet) is acceptable for communications cables.

The need for safe use of pools and maintenance operations is the rationale underpinning the stringent distance specification for overhead lines near pools. If lines and cables are close to the water level, they can come in contact with pool cleaning nets or other pool equipment, which is hazardous.

The Torch Foundation’s Teen Workshops

Based in New York City, Michael Fratacci Sr. served as president of Ramco Electrical Contracting Corp. Michael Fratacci enjoys supporting charities and nonprofits, including the Torch Foundation.

Founded in 2002, the Torch Foundation strives to provide training that helps teenagers develop social-emotional intelligence and other important life skills that will help them achieve success in life. To this end, the organization provides teen leadership workshops for individuals ages 13 through 17. These two-day workshops are a $300 value but free to students and take place over the weekend followed by a month of coaching calls and a week of Zoom meetings.

Through these workshops, participants learn about their potential for success while identifying any beliefs or obstacles preventing them from achieving this potential. They also learn skills and effective techniques to overcome these barriers. While workshops were previously held in person, they are now virtual and available to anyone around the world.
